There is a popular question that has formed the basis of many panel discussions and that was recently (inappropriately if I may add) asked of South African Chief Justice candidate Mandisa Maya in the ongoing interviews. The question is "is *insert country* ready for female leadership?". This question is not only inappropriate, but it is irrelevant because while the systems and structures that exist in the world we live in have made it difficult for women to lead, women have not stopped leading and have made significant contributions to various areas of society.
Our latest collaboration with Lipsticks and Scars aims to highlight the contributions that Basotho women, mostly young, have made in 2021. We are proud of the strides these women have made and we look forward to seeing more from them in 2022. We present to you, the #22for2022 list. We also note that there are many more women not covered in this list and we hope you will celebrate and support them and hopefully we will cover even more next year.
